  go easy on me, please, as i am new to this board.

  i have a question, i know chances are this has been answered in one form or another.

  but can anyone tell me, exactly or roughly how much of the bible jw's actually use.

  Rather than read Scripture and then extract the lesson being taught, the WTS typically first makes a statement, and then it cites a biblical reference. Often, when you look at the reference, its relevance is questionable. They (mis)use texts to support their pre-existing conclusions.

  JW-based Discussion Groups

  since it appears that the internet is having an impact on the wts/gb, i wonder if it is possible to compile a list of the jw-based discussion groups, like this one.

  if we can do this here, i would like to see common headings, so that we can produce an excel spreadsheet.

  Since it appears that the Internet is having an impact on the WTS/GB, I wonder if it is possible to compile a list of the JW-based Discussion Groups, like this one.
  
  If we can do this here, I would like to see common headings, so that we can produce an Excel spreadsheet.

  Site name; Site address; Can non-JWs join?; Are submissions monitored by the site owner?; Comments/experience.

  1. is its role limited to preparing couples for missionary work, or does it provide doctrinal teaching beyond that scope?

  2. is the syllabus designed and vetted only by members of the fds?

  Freewilly, you are correct -- I need to tie everything together with a Summary. I will address this omission.
  
  I deliberately steered away from their doctrinal flip-flops, evolution of the FDS/GB doctrine, etc. as I think these are well covered elsewhere. It is my intention to focus on their current operation and I did not want to cloud the issues with matters that could have been used as diversions.
  
  I am concerned about the Title, and have been stewing over this at every spare moment. Whether it is technically correct (since the GB "represents" the FDS) or not, I am concerned whether it truly reflects the contents.
  
  For example, I did not present a discussion on the claimed Scriptural base for the expression "Governing Body". This would bring in a host of other issues, such as their propensity to hop around Scripture and gluing unrelated texts, the terms such as 144,000, "other sheep", and so on.
  
  I will keep thinking about the Title, and feel that I will be helped as I develop the Summary.

  I will have a stew about the title, and I thank you for the stimulation. I believe you are telling me how it works in practice, which I think goes against the idea illustrated in their sketch. Let me think about this, which I might have to address in any update.
  
  Their totalitarian approach should make each member of the GB personally liable for each unnecessary death that results from their teachings, and each member should be personally responsible for each child molester they do not report to the legal authorities. I hope that my drawing of their Organization shows this.

  "Das unerschutterliche Reich" German book by Henninges

  as far as i know, henninges produced two books in german: "das unerschutterliche reich" (the unshakeable empire) and "die neue zeit" (the new time).. when i saw a copy of the former book in the 1970s, i photocopied the intro and contents pages, as well as the time chart.

  When you go to the site, go down to the bottom of the page. After a short while, possibly 30 seconds, you will see a large coloured button appear towards the left that says "Download". Click it and then decide where you want to save the file on your computer.

  It's a PDF file, so you will need a PDF Reader program, which is freely available from places such as Adobe.

  Let me know if you still have difficulties and I will be only too glad to email it directly to you.

  My problem with making the translation is the difficulty I have in working out some of the German letters.
